Heating, Cooling & Ventilation Systems

Okay - who designs the ventilation systems for floor plans?

Why does it seem like the ventilation ducts always blow directly on your head when you are lying in bed? Then you have to get up and move the little vanes on the duct to point in a different direction. Usually - on your significant other, who then complains and you have to get up and do it again!

Yes, I know that the actual designers place the ducts in locations that will provide the best circulation and air flow in that particular room. But, do they always think about where the head of the bed will be placed or where the most heat is generated?

Take your bathroom - it gets all steamy and hot, then you can't seem to cool off before getting dressed. This is especially a problem after blow drying your hair or for women using hot rollers or other heat producing appliances.

Check rooms for where the ducts are placed, the amount of air flow that seems to come out and whether the direction of the air flow can be changed.

Right now the Air Duct in my kitchen eating area blows directly on my left shoulder and my food - this makes my food cold faster than anyone elses! Unfortunately, when you cook in the kitchen, it heats up the air and your air conditioning will be running when you sit down to eat.
